Well I was caught up in a number of other projects, but I have finally gotten the SharePoint solution tested. In this first release there are a number of features that you can make use of, but the primary use of the provider is to integrate directly in to SharePoint seamlessly. End users should not really notice anything other than needing to fill in an email.
You can download version 1.0 of the authentication provider here. Read through the Installation documentation and let me know any questions. If you find an issue report it on the Known Issues and I will respond to it there.
Features:
- Windows Live ID Authentication
- Ability to lock users
- "Authenticated Live Users" role which works like NT_AUTHORITY\Authenticated Users
I want to thank Todd Klindt SharePoint MVP extraordinaire for testing the solution for me on his servers. He has also been a big help in reviewing the documentation and in general giving me ideas like making the provider in the first place.
I also appreciate all the people that took the time to give me feedback on what has been running on my blog for the last few weeks. |
